Blips and Bikes

I picked a better shirt for the weekly picture.
Same shirt, at Christmas.
Well, let's start off with the blip. My scale betrayed me this week. It told me I gained weight. Not awesome. We bought a new scale, but it's better than our old one and we really want an accurate measure of our progress. So that's what it read this morning. I'm calling it a blip because it really is the only negative of this past week. I feel great, I ran 3 times, did the elliptical once, walked once, blood sugars were great, and we got an app to track our calories and such. Yes, I said "we." Steve is joining me, so that we really can make this a permanent change. I'm excited, because it means that much more support The other exciting news is that I am dropping my bike off for a tune-up this morning so that I can use it train for the Tour de Cure!!! That's right, I'm going to get back to it. Some know, some don't, but for a few years I was heavily involved in the Tour, riding and doing work for the local Tour committee. I got a team of some of my students together a couple years in a row. It was awesome, as you can see below. Then we had kids, and the Tour was no longer held on the Seacoast (which I think is a total bummer--who doesn't want to ride a bike along the NH coastline?!). I loved the workout of biking, and am excited to pull my bike out of the cobwebs. I will be forming a team, and riding in the Kennebunks Tour de Cure on June 3rd! Yay! I will be posting a lot more info once I get the team set up (I think I need a new team name, taking suggestions). Let me know if you want to join my team, as a rider or a ghost rider, or just want to donate. I am really excited to be back!
